Privacy Policy

OTASK ("the App", "we", "us") is a personal time-management app built around a 24-hour visual planner. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles and how. We designed OTASK to keep your data under your control: there is no developer-run server, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking.

1. Data You Create

When you use OTASK, you create personal content, including:

Tasks & Reminders — titles, start/end times, completion status
Routines — recurring task templates and their schedules
Daily Notes — free-form text you write for a given day
Preferences — settings such as language, appearance, notifications, and haptics

We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or account registration to use the App.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

2.1 On Your Device

Your content is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData).

2.2 iCloud / CloudKit Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your tasks, routines, and daily notes are synchronized through Apple iCloud (CloudKit) to your private iCloud account so that they stay up to date across your own Apple devices and are backed up.

This data is stored in your private iCloud database, managed by Apple.
The developer of OTASK cannot access, read, or retrieve this data — it never reaches any server we operate.
Syncing is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you do not wish to use iCloud sync, you can disable iCloud for OTASK in your device's Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud.

3. Subscriptions & Purchases

OTASK offers auto-renewable subscriptions (Monthly, Yearly) and a one-time Lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see or store your payment information.

To manage subscriptions and validate purchases, we use RevenueCat, Inc. as our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat processes:

An anonymous app user identifier generated for your install
Purchase and transaction history (which product you bought, trial status, renewal/expiration dates)
Device and platform information (e.g., country, OS version, app version)

This information is used solely to deliver and restore your subscription entitlement. RevenueCat does not receive any of your tasks, notes, or routines. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

4. Notifications

OTASK can schedule local notifications (task start, task end, and a daily summary) directly on your device. These are generated and delivered on-device; their content is not transmitted to us or any third party.

5. What We Do NOT Do

We do not run our own servers that collect your content.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
We do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you.

6. Children's Privacy

OTASK does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require an account and does not gather identifying information. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will help address it.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You can delete any task, routine, or note within the App at any time.
Settings → Data → Delete All Tasks removes all tasks across your devices via iCloud.
Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data on that device.
To remove iCloud-synced data, delete it in the App (which propagates to iCloud) or manage it via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
You may request information about, or deletion of, any data associated with your use by contacting us at the address below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
